Why Storytelling

Storytelling is about breaking out from a usual perspective, enabling innovative, unexpected, or new routes to growth and development for individuals and groups of any age or background. Whether in response to the requirements of the school curriculum, the establishment of family bonds, individual emotional well-being, or a company’s need for ‘horizoning’, sharing a creative, multi-layered , and enjoyable experience is freeing. It raises self-esteem, which raises potential.

Storytelling has been used for centuries to bind communities and cultures with a shared history and wealth of experience through the power of imagery, metaphor and entertainment. Today it serves in the same way to overcome the pressures and inhibitions of modern society, which can so stifle creative thinking and communication.

The role of the storyteller - as the imaginer – is to root imaginative thinking into the required process, taking away limiting boundaries, broadening horizons, firing ideas. Life is exciting and there are many routes to the same dream.
